1) Use a cookie, but if user disabled the cookie, then you're :(
2) post to the server, jsp is on the server, jsp can get it.
3) Use a hidden frame, put the value there, your other page or jsp can get the value from the hidden parent.
4) Use your imagination and search to find more....
